Heavy Object episode 04
I really am surprisingly pleased with Heavy Object. The atmosphere is so ‘genuine’ (for lack of a better word), you know? It almost feels as though something like that could actually happen one day. I simply love how things are going right now.
It’s pure genius. You basically make it clear that the world revolves around these machines called Objects that supposedly have the power to make or break a nation and then you add a few human characters that have the potential to destroy such a machine without having one themselves. It just simply works out.
Last time we had a spider-like mech that had to resupply and go in for maintenance and the boys used that to their advantage in order to destroy that thing once and for all. This time they’re up against a machine that basically rules the ocean. What I love about this one is that it doesn’t have to stop for maintenance since it has its own maintenance bay on board. Brilliant.
So I’ve established that this new mech, whom I like to call Poseidon-kun at this point in time, is truly awesome. It has very few flaws when you compare it to that other Object or the Object that their beloved princess operates. They thought that they could use its size and weight against itself by setting some explosive charges in the hope of getting it to sink to the bottom. I won’t say that it was a bad idea or anything like that, but it doesn’t really seem all that creative. Could it really have been so simple? No. That is why I’m happy that Poseidon-kun survived (from the looks of it) and that the boys will need the princess’ help with this one. I can’t wait for the next episode!
