Kotoura-san episode 03

Oh yeah, Kotoura-san is definitely the best show around this season. I had my doubts at first. It was between this and Chihayafuru, but Kotoura-san definitely wins. Chihayafuru is somewhat predictable at certain points, but Kotoura-san is always full of surprises.

[HorribleSubs] Kotoura-san - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.48_[2013.01.25_23.47.59]I simply adore Kotoura-chan. She’s cute, small and very fragile. Her expressions, too, are absolutely priceless. You kind of have an unlimited amount of material when you’ve got a character that can read minds. It allows for great comedy and a lot of romance.

It kind of brings me to the following; Kotoura is well aware of her feelings for Yoshihisa. She overheard his confession, sees how much he cares for her by reading his mind, but she just can’t bring herself to confess to him. Her shyness is getting in the way of that. I can’t blame her though. I, too, would be careful when getting myself involved with a first degree pervert (as a guy I’d probably love it).

She doesn’t strike me as a bad person, but it’s well established that she plans to use Kotoura’s abilities to clear her mother’s name, which means that she became friends with Kotoura because she needs something from her. Is that really a valid basis to become friends with someone? I think so. I, too, believe that real friends should be able to be of use to one another. Not just about having a drink, watching a game or play some football. Hell no. It’d be nice if they had a use.
