There is always at least one show in every season that follows a group of girls as they go about their business. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it just doesn’t. I still haven’t decided whether or not this will work out.
The artwork is okay. The characters look cute, even though some scenes are ridiculously detailed to make the characters look more sexual, which is fine if it’s only one or two short scenes per episode. But no… They added a lot of that. Not sure if that’ll work for me.
The story is a big let-down for me. I just don’t find it very interesting. A girl that loves food and that tries to make friends through her food… Not much of a story if you ask me.
Comedy fans might enjoy this sort of thing. I on the other hand didn’t find this as funny as I thought I would. The comedy is really weak and the story has a lot of room for improvement. This just isn’t my cup of tea.
Plot Summary: The story follows Ryou, a middle school girl who lives by herself. She has a knack for cooking and makes friendships with everyone through her food. The cooking manga is “full of detailed cuisine art to whet the appetite and slightly erotic meal scenes.” The “koufuku” in the title is a wordplay on two Japanese homonyms—one which means “happiness,” and another that means “appetite.”
