Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 06
I set my sight on this particular episode, raised the bar to an all-time high, and got slightly disappointed in the end. It’s okay when things work out the way you’d expect, but it’s kind of disappointing when every single thing goes like you already thought it would.
Kuroko joined the game with the intention of using that new drive of his, the so-called Vanishing Drive. He used it a couple of times to get past his opponents. It made a difference of eight points, which Seirin obtained after Kuroko started playing again. You don’t have to be a huge anime geek to know that this was coming. When one of the main characters enters the spotlight with a new move in a time of need, that’s pretty much when you already know how it’s going to end. You already know that Kuroko is going to bring in the points.
Really, it’s just a matter of time before Kuroko’s move is shot down. He is capable of walking past his opponents right now, but that move is going to be useless when one of his (future) opponents figure out how that move works, after which we’re going to see yet another move (by another character perhaps) that will help Seirin win again.
The ending still pretty much went as planned. We all knew that Kuroko wasn’t going to score the winning point. It’s either Taiga, Junpei or Teppei that’s going to give them the necessary points to win. Teppei missed his final free-throw, Junpei wasn’t close enough and now it’s up to Taiga to score. Seirin’s win is kind of obvious, but I’m actually putting my money on a draw. Nothing wrong with spicing things up a tiny bit.
