Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 18
It’s finally over. I must admit that these last few episodes have really ruined Kuroko no Basuke for me. These sudden “power” boosts and new skills that suddenly all the characters knew about really ruined an otherwise great story. I honestly don’t care if there’s going to be a third season or not.
I had to watch an episode where two characters were able to use their skills to their fullest by temporarily removing the human body’s restrictions. This mode, this “in the zone” crap, why? The story has been so tense and filled with action, so why resort to supernatural nonsense where characters are suddenly capable of functioning at 100% for a limited time, which basically means that those characters temporarily became superhuman. That is not something that I would like to have seen in a story about a handful of basketball prodigies. This was quite the disappointing turn of events if you ask me.
During this match against Daiki’s team alone I’ve counted twelve inaccuracies. Those ridiculous moves, the way all the characters knew about those (secret) moves and, of course, many inaccuracies in the story itself. I actually made a fist when they started talking about their match going into overtime if Seirin managed to tie the score. I did not want to see more of that match to be honest.
Frankly, I have no idea how this season is going to end. The possibility of a third season is definitely there and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already been green-lit. I just want to see the match where Seirin plays against the school of Kuroko’s former captain, although that would probably just result in another match where characters display one supernatural skill after the other.
