Kyoukai no Kanata episode 02
I would feel like a complete idiot if I chose Coppelion over Kyoukai no Kanata. Coppelion is a great watch, but this one has a lot more to offer. I’m actually looking forward to seeing some of Mirai’s best moves.
Let’s keep in mind that this is a show about supernatural beings that hunt, kill and sell other supernatural beings for cash. You could call it their job. There’s more to it than that, but that’s what it comes down to. It’s a fascinating idea that allows for a lot of possibilities. That’s why I decided to write about it.
I wasn’t sure about the show’s sense of comedy. I thought it was misplaced, unnecessary and a bit childish. This episode blew away all of those worries. I loved that part with Akihito’s strange mother and how the others reacted to it. It was hilarious. I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing some more of those scenes.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of this. I want to know how that system of theirs work. What exactly happens to those creatures when they get defeated? How does one determine their value? It’s all something that I really want to know. I just hope that it won’t take up half the episodes before I finally get some answers.
Anyway, I’m hopeful. I find Mirai and her abilities interesting. She reminds me of some of the characters from Deadman Wonderland, another anime where characters can manipulate their blood and use it to kill other characters. It’s an awesome ability because of the risk involved; the amount of blood in one’s body is limited, so you can’t use too much of it.
