Love Lab

How many slice of life shows can we expect this season? Stop it! It’s bad enough that some shows actually got a second season when they didn’t even deserve the first one, but now they’re actually fuelling the fire? I’m just glad that this one was a little bit better than the rest.

Love LabI’m a bit disappointed by how plain the characters look. I mean, Natsuo, quite possible the strangest character on the show, reminded me of Ayase from Oreimo. Riko, another one of the characters, also reminded me of someone, but I just can’t put my finger on it. The rest looked pretty decent though.

The story isn’t all that bad. Yes, it’s yet another story about school girls forming a club and doing all sorts of strange things in order to make us laugh. Very, very basic, I agree. However, this is a bit different I think. They also try to focus a lot on romance instead of just on comedy.

The comedy isn’t too bad, the romance shows some promise and the characters, although they look plain, can be cute at times. I do commend this show to the average viewer.

Plot Summary: The Fujisaki Girls Academy is known for their school body being composed of very proper students. The most prominent one of them is Maki, the student president who is admired by her classmates for her calm and polite demeanor. On the other hand, Kurahashi Riko is also admired but for having a very forward and boyish personality. Riko accidentally walks into Maki while she’s practicing kissing with a pillow and learns that she isn’t what everyone thinks she is. Riko is forced into keeping Maki’s secret and join her in practicing all aspects of romance like holding hands and more.
