Magi 2 episode 06
I cannot believe how this episode shattered all of my expectations. No more joking around, no more mercy and no more questions. Just a lot of awesome action. It was about time Magi turned it up a notch or two.
The story continues with a rampaging Hakuryuu. Aum’s power had him completely in her grip, making him see her as his mother. You’d think that a boy from a noble family would do anything his mother tells him, which would explain why he attacked his friends when she ordered him to, but that doesn’t really explain what happened next.
Hakuryuu approached Aum when she was about to be killed by an angry mob of people that wanted her dead. He pushed the people away, stole a sword from some peasant and used that very weapon to cut off Aum’s head with one swing. Something tells me that she won’t be abducting any more children ever again.
Ignoring the fact that Hakuryuu used all sorts of advanced attacks to force everyone to get seriously, including Magi manipulation; I love the way he looks when he uses the power of his Djinn. His merciless personality and gruesome past are what make this character one hell of a badass. I’m actually amazed that he confussed his feelings to Morgiana so soon. Very impressive!
The only thing wrong with this episode is that we part ways with Hakuryuu. He is going his own way and I’m pretty sure that we are to follow Aladdin, Morgiana and Alibaba. I wish Hakuryuu the best and hope that he returns to the spotlight again soon. The thought of seeing him do to his mother what he did to Aum this week is sending shivers down my spine.
