Musaigen no Phantom World
This is more like it. None of that obvious fantasy nonsense where you have nothing more than cliché stuff that you’ve seen plenty of times already in anime. This actually shows promise.
I have no idea which studio is working on this. I didn’t really do my homework since I’ve been so busy lately. I do know that it’s probably a well-known studio that’s done quite a few well-known jobs since it looks so good. The characters look great, the “phantoms” look interesting and I found it very satisfying to look at.
This story shows promise. It might actually go somewhere. I’m not going to say it’s unique because it’s not (it’s sort of like Kyoukai no Kanata where characters hunt down monsters to get paid).
I think it’s interesting. In fact, I think it’s so interesting that I believe that everyone should give it a chance. This is one of the promising shows of this season.
Plot Summary: In the near future, in a world born of human imagination, what humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called “phantoms.” Haruhiko Ichijō, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability “Spirit of Five Elements,” Reina Izumi, who has the ability “Phantom Eater,” and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.
