Naruto Shippuuden episode 272
Good, no fillers this time. I know they have their reasons, but I cannot help but get annoyed when being surprised by one of those episodes from hell. This episode more than made up for what I had to watch last week, kudos! Who doesn’t like to learn a bit more about the history in Naruto Shippuuden?
This week we get to know a bit more about Hanzo and Mifune. But first I would like to take this opportunity to make it very clear that Hanzo is not in any way related to Danzo. Yes, both of them were evil to the core, but no, they were not related to one another. A lot of people seem to think that they were brothers. I guess it’s probably because their names are so alike.
Anyway, we got to learn more about these two characters and about the history they share. Also, we got to know a bit more about the way of the samurai. Frankly, it’s not that much different from your average Shinobi. Both do what needs to be done, at all costs. Both are willing to retreat, even when comrades are left behind.
We have to focus a bit more on these two though. Both are great warriors with their own sense of justice. Hanzo may have walked the path of evil, but he too knew the value of honour, pride and loyalty. He proved that when he battled Mifune in the early days. It was Mifune’s loss during those days, but he survived and grew stronger. He was fully prepared for Hanzo’s poison, knowing that it was bound to come eventually.
I would like to make it very clear here that I was impressed by both characters. Both were honourable men, one of which sacrificed his own life to escape Kabuto’s godforsaken Jutsu, after which Mifune and his men sealed him. You would have to have a hard of rock not to be moved by that, seriously. I have this newfound respect for characters like Mifune. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
