Naruto Shippuuden episode 299

Oh, oh… I think my hopes were too high. I didn’t enjoy this week’s episode of Naruto Shippuuden as much as I thought I would. Maybe it’s because we parted ways with Itachi again for the time being? Maybe it’s because Naruto still seems too weak compared to others? Could be a combination of both, I suppose…

[HorribleSubs] Naruto Shippuuden - 299 [720p].mkv_snapshot_00.46_[2013.02.07_22.17.03]Naruto’s struggle against Nagato once again continued as his situation was getting worse with every passing second. Even Bee, considering how strong he is and how much more experience he has got, couldn’t do much against Nagato and his annoying powers. Naruto soon realized that it wasn’t just your everyday Jutsu that was being used on him.

Truthfully, I thought that Jutsu looked a lot like the one the third Hokage used to seal away Orochimaru’s arms. Sure, there was no spirit present to suck up Naruto’s soul, but something was definitely trying to get a hold of Naruto. It’s pretty frightening what Kabuto can do with just the right puppets at his disposal.

[HorribleSubs] Naruto Shippuuden - 299 [720p].mkv_snapshot_12.52_[2013.02.07_22.18.07]Both Bee and Naruto couldn’t do anything against that guy. It eventually took Itachi and his abilities to summon Susano’o to his aid, thereby saving Naruto’s life in the process. See? Bad ass characters always save the day. It’s amazing that Itachi can still do that much, even though his eyes were getting worse right before he died. I don’t think a transplant would be of any use to him, seeing as he’s got himself an immortal body and all.

I’ll just end things by saying that I’m a big fan of Itachi’s version of Susano’o, a version that wields the Sword of Totsuka, a different variant of the Sword of Kusanagi. That sword allows Susano’o to seal anything and anyone it pierces. It is something that a lot of people have been looking for all this time, as it is said that the sword in question hold great power, which, from what I’ve seen so far, is one hundred percent true. I can’t wait to see more of Itachi soon!
