Oda Nobuna no Yabou
Here we go again. We yet again dive into a story where famous historical characters (men) have been replaced by cute (teenage?) girls. Where have a seen that before? Oh, right! In several other shows, of course. How could I possibly forget?
All sarcasm aside… The show is actually very good. I especially like the artwork. The main character, Nobuna, looks very good and relatively unique. I for one could pick her out of a line-up. That’s just one of the many things I like about this anime. The backgrounds are very detailed, the weapons look very good and the damaged landscape (from arrows, gunshots, etc…) doesn’t look too corny either.
Now the story is the clincher here. It’s about a boy who suddenly goes back in time and meets up with Nobuna, or more commonly known as Oda Nobunaga, where he comes in contact with her and watches how her story unfolds. The protagonist also has the power to alter the story by influencing Nobuna, thereby altering what really happened during the time of Oda Nobunaga.
I for one give this a thumb up. I really like the story and artwork. It may not be an original concept, but it’s great nonetheless. I could definitely picture myself watching twenty-four episodes of this, if not more. I simply suggest that you give the first two episodes a try.
Plot Summary: Ordinary high schooler Yoshiharu gets pulled into a time slip to the warring states period. There he meets Nobuna Oda – not Nobunaga, Nobuna. In this world, all the famous warlords of the era are female. Nobuna recruits Sagara, who she dubs “Monkey,” to help her in her quest to rule the world.
