Psycho-Pass 2 episode 02
A new season, a new enemy, a new goal and new characters. How lovely. I didn’t write about the first season because it seemed like a longshot, but I am glad that I got the opportunity to write about the second season instead.
Anyway, Akane managed to successfully capture that criminal before her colleagues killed him due to him having a level high enough for lethal use of those awesome weapons. Akane confronted him and made him see reason, after which is level went down so that they could take him out without having to kill him. This led to his capture and interrogation where he appeared to be completely insane. He may not have been seeing things, seeing as that accomplice of his really does exist, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was mentally insane and still became a murderer in the end.
I find it beautifully ironic how Akane’s methods are being questions right now by that rookie. I can remember Akane in her rookie days. She, too, sometimes questioned the decisions of her superiors and often did things her way. That’s why I find it hard to dislike that rookie. She may be a little naïve right now, but she shows a lot or promise.
The one thing that I still find hard to believe is that Akane chose to remain quiet about the Sibyl System and continued with her work as a police officer. I would’ve thought that that would’ve been enough for her to lose faith in the system. That is why I love this show; things sometimes don’t make sense at first. It makes things less predictable.
