Saki: Zenkoku-hen

I don’t get it. This is not like Chihayafuru at all. Why is it that mediocre shows get two, three or even more seasons instead of good, high-rated shows? I know sales and royalties play a huge role in whether or not a show gets another season, but there has to be more to it than that. I honestly don’t think that his was worth another season.

Saki Zenkoku-henThe artwork is the best thing about Saki Zenkoku-hen. The characters are cute and their expressions look really good sometimes. It’s all pretty detailed and there’s really nothing of importance that I would change.

The problem is really the story… It’s just so damn boring. The first few episodes are okay… You watch a group of girls and their love for mahjong as they play tournament after tournament. It’s similar to Chihayafuru, but this just doesn’t measure up. The story becomes predictable and boring after only a couple of episodes.

I just can’t recommend this. I couldn’t even watch the previous seasons completely. I just couldn’t. It got too boring for me to enjoy and I for one refuse to watch something that I don’t like. Life is too darn short.

Plot Summary: Sequel to the Saki series covering the Inter High School Mahjong Championships. The Combined Training Arc will be also re-animated.
