Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo episode 07

Why? Honestly, why? This is why I don’t like it when new characters suddenly jump in when the story is about to get really good. Everyone was doing his own thing, so it feels as though they took a break from the story to make this episode. I suppose this episode was amusing in a way, but it contributed very little to the story.

Sorata’s little sister, Yuuko, joined the big picture this week. I don’t know why, but she decided to visit her big brother after her mother messed with her mind. So what if he doesn’t go home as often as they’d like? He has other things on his mind right now, like taking care of Mashiro, a girl that’s more like a daughter to him than a girlfriend.

Now, Yuuko is very much like Nanami; she wants all other woman (other than herself) to stay away from Sorata. This makes it very hard for Sorata to make any progress with Mashiro (or any other girl). He can’t get close to any one of them if his little sister keeps making a ruckus. And Yuuko constantly misunderstanding everyone’s words doesn’t really help him much.

The only good thing that came out of it was that group date. Sorata, Yuuko, Mashiro and Nanami all went out to have fun. It kind of gave me hope, as it gave Sorata a great opportunity to take one of the girls somewhere private to ‘talk’. For a moment there I thought that I hit the jackpot, but no… He decided to go look for his little sister and Mashiro, seeing as neither one of them could survive on their own. At least Yuuko, being young and all, has an excuse.

I’m kind of hoping that this is the last we’ve seen of Yuuko for now, but I rather doubt it. The Japanese really love to throw in little sisters when it comes to harems. But, although I agree, I believe there’s a time and place for everything. Introducing Sorata’s little sister was a little strange. The timing was off. Still, I enjoyed it. That’s all that matters in the end.
