Sankarea episode 04

Okay, say whatever the hell you want, but this is definitely the best episode yet. The words epic, justice and fail come to mind. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this anime is well on its way to becoming a hit. I can only hope right now that this show, seeing as it’s still now known how many episodes we can expect, will have at least twenty to twenty-four episodes.

I, in my previous posts, focussed a little bit on Rea’s father, the psychopathic paedophile. Not only am I happy that Rea-chan has found a different place, but I am also happy to see that man so miserable. If only Rea’s mother, a very attractive woman, would leave him as well and find some other man. That man no longer deserves a loving wife, children and/or friends. He is the type of man that deserves to die alone, and that is something I rarely say about a person (fictional and/or real). I don’t think it’s over yet though, as that man still poses a big threat to Rea and Chihro.

Now I would like to focus a bit more on Rea and Chihiro. They have seen some messed up stuff, both of them. But now their dreams finally come true. Rea-chan is (for the moment) released from her father’s evil clutches, and can start a new life like a normal girl by Chihiro’s side. Chihiro-kun has what he has always dreamed of; a zombie girlfriend. All the necrophilia aside, I think that they have a pretty could chance. However, Rea-chan’s body has proven to be quite problematic. She lost her strength at the end of the episode. It’s my guess that she’s hungry, and that she needs to feed on the same plant as Baabu did.

Also, I see a dreadful love triangle coming. I know that Ranko and Chihiro are related, but that didn’t stop Ranko from falling in love with him. I know that there are people out there that disagree on Ranko’s feelings for Chihiro. Face it; she has a major crush on him. It couldn’t be any more obvious. But neither Ranko nor Rea strike me as the type of girls that hold grudges.

I think this post is very clear on how I think about Sankarea right now. It’s a wonderful anime with one hell of a story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Rea needs to regain her newly obtained monster-strength in order to defend herself and Chihiro against the wrath of her psycho father, whom probably will do anything in his power to get her back. I can’t wait to see how this plays out!
