Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Only in Japan people, only in Japan. I don’t think many others could come up with something like this. I have never heard of singing in order to defeat the “noise” and by doing so saving people’s lives. No, you must be Japanese in order to come up with something like that.

Anyway, the artwork is pretty decent. I wish they would’ve put more work into these “noise” characters, because they look, how to put it… cheap? Seriously, I was taking a closer look at those characters and I was sort of let down by how they look, but maybe it’s just me.

As for the story, well… It’s definitely unique, that much is certain. But is it interesting? Well, I think so, yeah. The story may be really strange, some of the characters may look a bit cheap, but I believe that this show holds some promise. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find voice actresses that have a smooth talking voice as well as a decent singing voice?

So the artwork is so-so, but I think the story is what does the trick here. It’s a very unique, although be it farfetched story. I believe that it’s something a lot of people could like, despite its minor flaws. So go watch it, who knows? Maybe you’ll end up loving it.

Plot Summary: Two years ago, a pair of idols, Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amō, collectively known as ZweiWing, fought against an alien race known as Noise using armor known as Symphogear. To protect a girl named Hibiki Tachibana, who got severely wounded by the Noise, Kanade sacrificed herself. Two years later, as Tsubasa has fought the Noise alone, Hibiki ends up gaining the same power as Kanade.
