Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso episode 10
I am very satisfied with this episode. I am very satisfied with how this episode turned out. It would’ve been absolutely ridiculous if Kousei suddenly started playing like a pro from start to finish and actually won. No, that won’t be happening any time soon.
Say whatever you want about the guy; he did his best. He had a good start when he was still trying to be the old puppeteer that he used to be when his mother was still alive, but that soon fell apart when he realized that he was too damaged to revert to his old ways. His mother haunts him and he completely fell apart. At one point he just stopped playing in order to gather his thoughts and, when thinking of Kaori, started playing again as though he was a new person with a new mission. I definitely liked what I saw there!
It is promising. He has been playing because of his mother up until now. Tied to the score because of his mother’s evil teachings. But not anymore. He has been set free. He can finally find his own way, his own music. He already has a goal in mind. All that’s left is for him to continue walking this path and he will end up on his feet soon enough.
Now then, what will happen with his childhood friends? He likes the girl that supposedly likes his best friend, even though those two have nothing in common. Kaori and Kousei were practically meant for each other. I can’t say the same thing about Tsubaki and Kousei. They were meant to be brother and sister from different parents if you ask me.
