Shingeki no Kyojin episode 12
I honestly thought that I would never say this about Shingeki no Kyoujin, but I seriously expected a lot more out of this episode. I would describe this episode as amusing, but it ends there. It seems as though this episode was stretched out a little bit.
We all remember how Eren transformed into a titan last week. We all remember why, and I’m also sure that we all remember him turning on Mikasa. I expected that to be a four minute ordeal. Never would I have imagined that they would spend an entire episode on Eren’s inability to control that titan. He lost control and let the titan take control instead, which almost cost Mikasa her life. It’s a good thing that she has good reflexes, because any of the regular characters would’ve have gotten crushed by that massive fist. It really makes you think twice before asking Eren for help when you don’t even know anything about that strange power.
That being said; I’m happy it happened. It would’ve been strange if Eren was suddenly capable of controlling that power as though it was a normal part of his life right away. I don’t have a problem with him losing control, let that be said, but it’s just that it took up an entire episode. I would’ve preferred to have seen a bit more, that’s all.
It seems that we can expect a good episode next week. Eren supposedly snaps out of his trance, regains control and, if all goes well, will attempt to block the damaged gate with a huge boulder. Things will undoubtedly become complicated with a lot of the enemy titans being interested in killing Eren, but that is what should make the next episode exciting. I can hardly wait!
