Shomin Sample episode 09
Fantastic episode! Truly a great episode that all other future episodes need to use an example. It was so freakishly amusing that I didn’t even question the ridiculousness of the story for even a second. Not even when a small army of maids appeared out of nowhere.
The episode started out normally (for as normally as a Shomin Sample episode can possibly start). The girls wanted to know about the commoners and their fixation with maids. Little did they know that the image the commoners have of maids is completely different from actual maids. It’s like a fantasy where the commoner’s maid tries her best to find that balance between cute and weird. I’ll admittedly say that I have no idea what the point of that was. I mean, yeah, the girls were doing it because they wanted to get closer to that idiot, but the general idea was just weird.
Imagine my surprise when suddenly the spotlight shined on Hakua. I don’t think we’ve ever really had an episode with her in the spotlight. At least not since the episode where we first met her. That’s why I absolutely loved this episode. The funniest, cutest and most interesting character of this show got some major screen time this week.
We learned a little about what Hakua does with her time and we learned that she does not really like the head maid. I think it’s about time we learn more about that maid and why she’s so interested in that idiot protagonist. I’ll endure any amount of ridicule as long as I get my weekly dose of Hakua.
