Space Brothers episode 20
It’s here! It’s finally here! The last day of the third training phase has finally arrived. I can’t begin to count the amount of episode have passed since they first started. It’s been a long and difficult road, but they all made it. Now all that’s left is to choose the most suitable amongst candidates to become astronauts.
It all started with a pretty funny scene where Mutta’s parents were bickering about what day it was, seeing as it was marked with a star and whatnot. They too knew that Mutta was coming home from his training, which means that next week’s episode should pretty much finalize things. I have a very good feeling about this too.
Everyone was pretty stressed. They all knew that the final day had come and that it was time to elect two members. Two members that would, according to them at least, most likely to become astronauts. The pressure of this decision must be tremendous. Vote for your friend(s) and you’ll seem biased. Vote for yourself and you’ll seem desperate. It’s very complicated.
Things have become too complicated, so I was happy to see how Mutta decided to simplify things by suggesting to the others that they settle things by using the rock-paper-scissors method. A bit childish perhaps, but overall very effective. Mutta has definitely been on a roll, good for him! It’s too bad that they are resorting to a gambling method, as he would have definitely been voted as one of the two most promising trainees. Also, seeing that monkey cry and open up like that was very moving. I guess he must have been bottling all that up during the last few days.
The one thing I did not like was when Yamato showed up again with his laptop. It seems that he has been reconstructing their point system based on memorized statistics. He has been collecting that information from various members, so that he would come out on top. That guy would probably disown his own mother to win. Pathetic. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how Kenji will spit that guy out, again. Kenji is not the type of person that would roll over and day if someone made things difficult for him, so I can’t wait.
