Space Brothers episode 84
Space Brothers is really full of surprises lately. It’s slowly recovering from a series of dull and pointless episodes and it’s finally giving me hope again. I am actually starting to enjoy watching it again, just like I did when Space Brothers first started.
I was really impressed by Kenji’s resolve last week. He showed how much he wanted to go to outer space, although his ambition isn’t nearly as strong or as good as Mutta’s. Kenji just wants to go up there to impress his family and to do right by his little girl. That’s not nearly as impressive as a man that wants to go because a woman, whom could very well be called his second mother, is dying and he made her a promise to set-up the telescope on the moon that she herself designed. Now that’s a story that could capture any front page of any newspaper. Kenji’s reasons rather fall short and aren’t as good as that.
Stories aside, I’m actually impressed by Mutta. We all know that he’s a stubborn fool and always looks for new possibilities. He knew that the gap between him and Kenji was getting wider, which led him to believe that Kenji was going to be picked for sure. Kenji showed a lot of initiative and made quite a lot of calls.
Of course, Kenji was playing the bad guy here. Mutta never gave up and kept looking for new ways to do everything. The difference between him and Kenji is that Mutta never gives up and tries to find ways to do as much as humanly possible. That’s why Mutta managed reverse the flow and knock Kenji out of the spotlight. If I didn’t have a social life I would’ve actually cheered here.
