Space Brothers episode 89
Things just became very promising! This episode might have been what I needed all along. I have been lacking motivation ever since Hibito came back from space. I’m pretty sure it showed in my posts… I’m pretty sure they were even crappier than usual.
The first half can be dismissed, I think. A lot of recaps (why?), poor comedy and a couple of scenes that didn’t make any sense whatsoever. The biggest mystery were the recaps… Why!? They were recaps from last week and there were so many of them, too. What was the point of throwing them into the mixture? I don’t get it.
At least there was some good news: Mutta is going to space! It seems the other brother is about to start his training to go to the moon. It’s been many, many months since Space Brothers started and all we’ve been watching is Mutta’s long-lost dream to go to the moon. The guy is about to pull it off and he might actually be part of the team that’s going to construct Sharon’s telescope there.
It was a little hard to watch how Kenji and the rest were shot down. They simply didn’t make it. I can definitely understand that NASA only picks the best of the best. Going to the moon is not a cheap trip and it requires a strong body and mind. Kenji proved that he wasn’t ready to go yet when he acted like a jerk in order to prove to everyone that he was the best. Mutta beat him fair and square and that is why Mutta was selected and Kenji, who has another child on the way, was sent home to tell his family that he is to stay on earth for the time being. The guy is getting older so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he never makes it to outer space.
