Suisei no Gargantia episode 13

Beautiful. Finally an ending that completely satisfied me. I have no idea why a lot of shows have disappointing endings, but I’m glad that Suisei no Gargantia isn’t one of them. All the more reason for me to be happy that I decided to write about this show.

[HorribleSubs] Suisei no Gargantia - 13 [720p].mkv_snapshot_01.47_[2013.07.03_23.21.59]During last week’s episode we learned that Striker was acting on its own. Commander Kugel, Ledo’s beloved role model, was already dead and Striker, thinking that it was doing the right thing, was continuing his mission. You’d think that a high-tech machine like Striker, equipped with an AI that constantly learns, would have been able to distinguish earth from space. In space the Hideauze didn’t give them much room to breathe, they attacked constantly. The Hideauze on earth weren’t like that, they never attacked without having a good reason to, like defending their territory from some stupid kid named Ledo.

[HorribleSubs] Suisei no Gargantia - 13 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.01_[2013.07.03_23.23.24]I’m a little bit disappointed that Ledo didn’t use that fusion thing before, although he didn’t have an opponent worthy enough to use it on, I know that. It was an interesting concept that raised more questions than answered, but that’s okay. I’m just happy that Ledo, at least, survived Striker’s insane quest for word domination.

This episode was tear-moving. It kind of hit me hard when Chamber paid the ultimate price in order to keep Ledo, his precious comrade in battle, safe, thereby giving him a fair chance to start a new life on-board Gargantia. It was really moving and I honestly hope that I get to see more of this in the future. Well done.
