Bakuman Season 2

Good timing. I just finished watching the first season, so it’s nice to know that I’ll still have some Bakuman every week. I didn’t care much for this anime at first, as I said earlier, but I’m very glad my girl kept nagging me about it.

The artwork is still as good as ever, quite reassuring. As for the story goes; wow. It’s getting better now that their manga has been serialized. They are meeting new people, getting new assignments, their own staff and new upcoming goals. I can’t wait for the next episode. I’ll say it again; I recommend this anime strongly!

Plot Summary: Moritaka Mashiro, a junior high school student, content to live out a relatively normal life as any other does, is persuaded by his classmate, Akito Takagi, to become an aspiring mangaka when the latter realizes his natural talent as an artist. However, Moritaka is reluctant to pursue his dream as his uncle, once a mangaka with his own serializations, died from overwork trying to regain his lost status. With Akito’s help, Takagi gets another classmate and his school crush, Azuki Miho, who is an aspiring voice actress, to voice in the anime adaptation of their future manga once it is completed. However, Mashiro also proposes to Azuki, who surprisingly accepts only on the condition she will marry him when both of them have achieved their dreams. With a goal set before him, Mashiro begins a long and struggling path to become a famous mangaka.

Tamayura Hitotose

You know, it’s come to my attention that there’s a lot of anime this season that appeals to girls. That’s right, there’s a shitload of girly anime this season. My girl must be ecstatic, lol.

I watched the first episode and it’s not all that bad, I think this particular anime might appeal to a large male audience too.  The artwork looks good and the story actually isn’t that bad, it’s not that unique, but nevertheless not bad. I might follow this anime, providing the story stays interesting.

Plot Summary: For her first year of high school, Fu Sawatari moves to Takehara, a scenic old town near Hiroshima, on the Inland Sea. Her father, who has passed away, grew up in Takehara. She loves taking photographs with her father’s old film camera, a Rollei 35S. The story follows her and the friends who gather around her as she comes to love her new home.

Bakuman

Crap. I owe my girl one hell of an apology. When I watched the first episode of Bakuman, which aired many months ago, I dropped it. I couldn’t grasp it at all and decided that I wouldn’t watch it because it didn’t seem like my cup of tea. But my girl has been riding my ass for weeks now, especially since the second season started. I was surprised to learn that there even was a second season coming, so there must’ve been something to it.

A few days ago I decided, after finally giving in to her, to watch some more of Bakuman. I watched till episode three with some difficulty, until I actually started liking it. Without even noticing I found myself ending my evening with episode 10, I watched Bakuman for hours on end. I owe many people an apology for my stubbornness, goes to show that I have to have a bit more patience with animes, to give them a chance to develop and then, and only then, form an opinion about it.

Needless to say that I’m glad I listen to my girl, I found this to be very good in the end. I just finished watching the last episode and I’m definitely going to be following the second season with great interest! Not only is this anime very amusing, romantic and motivational, it’s also very educational; I had no idea what it’s like to write manga’s, it’s a very though and risky job. I definitely recommend it to everyone!
