Million Doll

What the hell did I watch? I could not believe what I was seeing. I’ll be honest; I did not expect much. Medaka Box was this studio’s best work so far, the rest was either bad or mediocre.

Million DollI honestly don’t even want to talk about the artwork. It looks so incredibly bad. The characters look kinda weird and their movements are dreadful. I cannot bear to watch it.

I don’t know what it’s about. Is there even a story? Just a group of girls singing badly to bad music because one girl’s blogging. She should be cut off from the web.

Safe these eight minutes of your life. Go do something else. This isn’t worth it.

Plot Summary: Sūko is an idol-loving hikikomori (shut-in) who has one ability: To make any idol popular through the power of blogging. She puts her sights on the Fukuoka idol Itorio and tries to make her more popular, but she is impeded by the charismatic idol Ryūsan and the underground idol Mariko.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX

I’m not going to dance around it; I never really understood why this show got a second season. I certainly don’t understand why it has a third season. From what I read both the first and second season did pretty mediocre when it came to ratings and sales.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear GXI’m not going to completely destroy it. The artwork does look rather nice. The characters all look pretty good and the level of detail is alright. I would slap myself for being a liar if I said that it’s all bad.

In my case it’s the story that prevents me from watching. I honestly don’t like that singing nonsense in order to gain power. It’s ridiculous. I don’t want to watch a group of girls sing and fight cheap-looking enemies. Not my cup of tea.

I cannot recommend this. I just can’t. Both the previous seasons were rated “okay” and the sales were also “okay”. That’s just not good enough for me.

Plot Summary: After the frontier incident, everyone who knew the circumstances believed the Noise were gone and the pain they caused was at an end. But a new conflict approached unseen. In the Yokohama Harbor Oosan-bashi Pier, a new pattern is detected that is similar to the Noise. A combat group wielding mysterious technology stands in the way of Hibiki and the others. When she hears of this enemy of unprecedented strength, Tsubasa hurries back home from England. But the Symphogear users see no opening to counterattack are forced into a difficult fight. In this situation of extreme disparity, the battle for the song that will end the world begins.

Miss Monochrome 2

People have told me quite a few times about how this is supposedly one of the “watchable” anime shorts. I’m sorry; I don’t see it. The artwork alone was too hard for me to watch. The fact that it’s only a couple of minutes per episode doesn’t help either.

Miss Monochrome 2Like I said; I hate the artwork. It looks really bad and I just can’t seem to get used to it. There are only a few anime shorts that have been successful on this front but this isn’t one of them.

As for the story; it’s an anime short. There isn’t one. I just don’t like this 2.5D nonsense and especially in this setting. It makes me want to stop watching anime altogether.

I’m sorry, but I am not going to waste my time on this crap and I don’t see how I could possible recommend others to do otherwise. Skip this stuff.

Plot Summary: In order to be more in the eyes of the public, Miss Monochrome begins working to become a top-selling idol. Spacey Miss Monochrome once again runs around the idol show biz world, being tossed around by others.

Hibike! Euphonium

I’ve heard about this one and I must say that it doesn’t live up to the hype. It may be worth watching, but I am not that interested so far. It was a very weak first episode.

Hibike! EuphoniumThe artwork is alright. Most of the characters may look a little dull, but at least the level of detail is pretty good. Oh, and I like their uniforms. I was getting fed up with those blue and white ones.

Like I said; it was a very weak first episode. It doesn’t have any impact. I’m not curious and I don’t care about the second episode. It doesn’t make me want to keep watching. That’s not a good sign.

I cannot recommend this. Music fans will probably watch this. However, I don’t think this is one of those stories with a music prodigy and stuff.

Plot Summary: Hibike! Euphonium begins when Kumiko Oumae, a girl who was in the brass band club in junior high school, visits her high school’s brass band club as a first year. Kumiko’s classmates Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko sees her old classmate Reina there and hesitates. She remembers an incident she had with Reina at a brass band club contest in junior high school.

Show By Rock!!

Hmm… Yeah…. Okay… No. This show definitely makes you want to try music. I mean, I almost bought myself a guitar so I could use it to smash my monitors to pieces.

Show By Rock!!The artwork is just a terrible burden on the eyes. Honestly. It is painfully obvious that they made this for teenage girls. Everything is just so incredibly gay that you cannot even begin to enjoy the poor excuse of a story.

Am I really supposed to sound positive about story that involves a loli cat girl in Goth clothing that wants to reach the top of the music industry? Give me break.

I am not going to watch this. I did not even completely finish the first episode because I couldn’t be bothered to watch this any further. It was so incredibly disappointing.

Plot Summary: Metropolis of music, MIDICITY. A kitty girl wearing gothic lolita clothing named Cyan is scouted by Maple Arisugawa, the president of a music agency. From there, she meets Chuchu (a pun off of the sound that rabbits make) the honor student rabbit girl, a net geek dog girl named Retoree (from “Retriever”), and an alien sheep (?) girl named Moa. Together, they form the band named “Plasmagica,” and aim for the top of the world.

However, the path there is long and tough, and keeping in high spirits is important. By battling against other strange bands, Plasmagica slowly grows toward a top-grade band. In the end, they’ll be a band that becomes the driving force of MIDICITY’s music industry… Maybe?
