ERASED episode 07

Okay, I know for sure now. I want to make it perfectly clear that this post will contain spoilers as I am finally certain of what’s about to happen now. They made quite the slipup if you ask me. I don’t think it was on purpose.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 07 [720p].mkv_snapshot_03.52_[2016.02.22_01.18.45]We know that the protagonist’s plan didn’t work out right. The day of the murder was only slightly delayed. That poor girl still ended up being killed. The protagonist ended up going back to his ‘own time’ and found out that things were just as bad as before. He had one person that believed him, Airi-chan of course, but that didn’t make much of a difference.

She tried to help him but instead only became bait to bring the police to Satoru. He got arrested, saw that the killer was there to make sure that he took the fall for his crime, and begged (god?) to get sent back to the past one more time in order to try and prevent Kayo-chan, other girls and his own mother from getting killed by this psychopath.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 07 [720p].mkv_snapshot_15.55_[2016.02.22_01.19.07]But like I said; they made a mistake (or did they?) when they decided to have the protagonist go back again to make sure that Kayo-chan doesn’t go home to her parents. He thinks that her parents are responsible for her death, so he decided to make sure that she didn’t go home, that Jun-kun, that anti-social guy, had an alibi so that he couldn’t be framed for murder again and he even told his friends about what was going on in order to get their help. Kayo-chan started living in an old bus and still the murderer found her. Her mother and her boyfriend did not even know she was missing, Jun-kun had an alibi which only leaves their homeroom teacher. I am certain that he’s the one.

ERASED episode 06

I am loving ERASED, but sometimes I get so frustrated with it that I just want to punch my monitor. They really know how to portray a bad guy here. I don’t even know who it is yet and I already want to see him suffer badly.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 06 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.39_[2016.02.15_00.50.59]This episode really added a few new possibilities and now I’m more lost than ever. That reporter guy that his mother used to hang out with joined the picture again and so the list of suspects just grew larger. There’s are plenty of things that I’ve learned when it comes to anime and one of those things is that when a certain character seems too nice and somehow too helpful than that’s someone you want to keep an eye on at all times. They usually turn out to be the suspect or one of the suspects. I’m not saying that’s the case here, but I’m keeping an open mind.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 06 [720p].mkv_snapshot_18.03_[2016.02.15_00.51.21]This is actually annoying, but I really have been thinking about that reported guy a lot. I mean, he worked with that poor woman a lot and there’s a chance that she may have discovered what he’s been doing all this time. He knows a lot about her and he knows where she lives so he definitely had the ability to murder her.

It also bothers me that they focussed on one of the protagonist’s friends. Would a boy that gets mistaken for a girl sometimes really do something like this? The list of suspects just keeps growing with every passing episode even though I just want to know now. All in all? I’m still putting my money on the teacher. He was way too interested in Satoru and Kayo.

ERASED episode 05

This certainly was a kick in our protagonist’s nads. He went through all that trouble of going back in time (even though he himself has no idea how he did it) and it only seemed to make things worse if you look at the big picture.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 05 [720p].mkv_snapshot_13.05_[2016.02.08_23.31.42]He did not save that poor girl. I imagine that her mother’s boyfriend is the one responsible for her death and that her mother is merely trying to cover it up or something. But yeah, she got murdered a little later anyway. She managed to make it to her birthday but that was all. Our poor protagonist had no other choice but to go back to his ‘own time’.

I will say that I find it kind of weird that his colleague, that interesting girl, is willing to do so much to help him. She even helped him at the cost of her own wellbeing after the murderer set her family’s house on fire with her still in it. It goes to show that our protagonist is getting closer (and making things a little bit worse for the sake of progress). I can’t wait to see what happens.

ERASED episode 04

I managed to find myself small half hour of free time to write and schedule this post without throwing up. Sure, it’ll be shorter than this episode deserves, but I believe that I can make it work with what little time I have right now.

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 04 [720p].mkv_snapshot_11.32_[2016.02.01_00.50.07]I’ll put my foot down here. I still believe that Kayo-chan’s mother isn’t the killer. She is definitely abusive, but I don’t see her killing her daughter. She seems to value her freedom. Nor do I suspect that model plane freak, no matter how mentally unstable he may be. I’m still just going back and forth between that boyfriend and their homeroom teacher.

I think it’s safe to exclude that mentally unstable shut-in because Satoru’s mother was killed about 18 years later when he wasn’t around, which means that the killer wasn’t him. I’m sure that Satoru has already made that connection. I just wonder if he can go back in time again if it turns out that Kayo was killed a day later. I can hardly wait to see the next episode…

ERASED episode 03

A very good, yet confusing episode. We are going around in circles. Is that character the criminal? No is it that one after all? They are throwing in so many options right now that it’s too damn hard to come up with a good theory. It could be the fever though?

[HorribleSubs] Boku dake ga Inai Machi - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.43_[2016.01.24_23.47.06]I thought that it was his homeroom teacher. He looked a lot like the guy that killed the protagonist’s mother, but that would be a little too obvious, which seems very unlike ERASED. I think that abusive mother of hers is also a little too obvious. She is very hostile towards her but I don’t think she would go as far as to actually kill her.

We also met the guy that got framed for it; a very lonely guy with quite a few social problems. Yes, he seems kind, but those are usually freaks. But hey, still too obvious. As for the mother’s boyfriend/husband? Also a very good possibility. It’s also possible that he’s the one (sexually) abusing that poor girl and the mother is trying to cover it up in order to keep him happy. There are just too many options right now.
