Tamako Market episode 03

Really? Really!? I don’t know much, I’m still young, but I’m definitely not the only person out there that’s somewhat bothered by this particular episode of Tamako Market. I am very, very sure of that. It’s kind of difficult to discus, so I’d like to apologize right now if I offend anyone in any way.

[Mazui]_Tamako_Market_-_03_[4CD0E3A9].mkv_snapshot_07.20_[2013.01.23_23.28.36]The episode starts out normally, just like any other. The bird, Dera Mochimazzi, was going about his business as usual, when he suddenly lost his strength whilst flying, resulting in him plummeting towards the ground. He was saved by a sweet, young girl, whom also happened to be one of Tamako’s classmates.

It all seems very normal and very funny. She saved him by using her badminton racket, even though he still fell on the ground (because he’s gotten so fat). Now, and I’m sure this has happened to all of us at one point during our lives, this bird somehow fell in love with this young girl. In fact, he followed her everywhere, he made sure that she came home with him and he even tried to peek during her bath.

[Mazui]_Tamako_Market_-_03_[4CD0E3A9].mkv_snapshot_18.40_[2013.01.23_23.29.13]It all seems very standard and still very funny. This is when I started thinking outside the box. Basically; a bird fell in love with a human, tried to see her naked and is now stalking her. Do you see it yet? I’m not sure about Japan, but beastiality is strictly prohibited over here. I could not help but feel a little discomfort when thinking things through.

I know, I know… It’s “just anime”. I am very well aware of that, thank you. It’s just that particular thought that keeps bugging me. Sure enough, things ended as expected; the bird got his little heart broken, the girl is now friends with Tamako and things will continue as normal again next week. To think that this show got inside my head… I feel so weak.
