Tamako Market episode 09

Why? Did the creators of Tamako Market actually read my previous blog post? I’m joking, of course. Although it does feel that way. It seems as though the story was changed mid-way in order to piss me off to no end. Was that your plan, Japan? If so; well done! Why don’t you buy a plane ticket to come look at the new hole in my wall? My punching power, just like my ‘tool’, can be really freighting at times.

I quickly paused, started up the previous episode and skipped to the last few minutes in order to check if I saw correctly. I don’t know, there’s a possibility that I may have dreamt of a slim version of Dera. But no, I definitely saw a weird-looking bird in the form of a bowling pin. That’s when I realized that he was holding in his stomach, which would explain why his chest stuck out. Hell, I thought he bulked up or something. It’s possible, right? I mean, a bird with a lot of muscles should be possible.

I don’t know, I may have been a bit relieved at the time. Having Dera lost that much weight in just one episode would’ve been abnormal, even though Dera’s a talking bird that can transmit messages and such (kind of like a merge between Twitter and Skype?)…

I think it shows promise, because they are still making sure that he doesn’t indulge on any more mochi. I think things are fine as they are right now. The romance is kind of weak, as you may all have noticed already, but I think the rest of the story more than makes up for that. I’m kind of hoping that Dera’s prince shows up soon, too. Doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun? I know I’d definitely watch that.
