The Knight in the Area episode 08

I had to wait one day extra in order to watch this episode, but it’s all good. It didn’t turn out like I thought it would. That’s kind of disappointing, but also very reassuring. I do feel like we have a lot more of The Knight in the Area ahead of us, seeing as it’s still not known how many episodes this show will have.

Anyway, the episode continued with Kakeru’s badass shot. It’s really too bad that it didn’t go in, that would’ve been one hell of a goal. He could’ve been the one to win the match for the fun team, but that’s alright. Coach Teppei had other plans for his team. He wanted to disband it at first, so that his players could join the other club. However, both clubs ended up quitting, but only to form one big club with all the players combined. It was a whole new club with the best of both worlds. Their chances of winning championships just went up.

All that’s left is to practice, practice and practice some more. I don’t know how much time had passed between that match and their first group practice, but I could believe my eyes; Araki showed up fat as hell again. No matter what people say, that is just not possible. It’s physically impossible to increase and decrease your body mass that quickly. That’s a shame too, seeing as I really wanted this show to be as ‘real’ as possible. It didn’t help when they made a lot of jokes about it. Sure, a slight hint of comedy is always refreshing, but that just wasn’t the time for it.

Sigh… Okay, well… It’s been going good for Kakeru and his team, but I’m afraid that it might all go downhill from here on out. Nana-chan, also known as Seven, was visited by people from her old school. They wanted to have her back. Apparently she built up quite the reputation back there. They wanted Nana, known to them as “little witch”, to return. However, they soon left after they realized that Nana had given up. I have a very bad feeling about this…

I don’t have any actual hopes for next week’s episode, but I just don’t want to see Araki slim and fit again. That would be absurd. I just hope that Nana will stay by Kakeru’s side, one way or the other. Finally I would like to end this post by saying that I still think that people expect too much from Kakeru, merely because he’s Suguru’s younger brother. Poor guy, he still stands in the shadow of his older brother.
