The Knight in the Area episode 19

The Knight in the Area seems to arrive earlier every week. Could it be that the fansubbers are making it a higher priority? I did notice that the ratings having going up little by little after having dropped quite a bit. I guess that some people are enjoying this anime (again).

I would like to start this by making yet another one of my weird opinions clear here. I watch anime’s and notice all the little things as well, things that I just can’t let go. Have you ever noticed how the commentator during every match is completely the same? There has only been one match where there was a different, female commentator. Other than that it’s been the same one throughout the anime (for as far as I can tell).

Anyway, it was nice to see how much Kakeru and his team have improved. Kakeru is a lot more serious about soccer, his team has been united and Araki is no longer overweight. Good for them! But it doesn’t change the fact that their current opponent won’t make things easy for them, despite their amazing growth.

The match got to a point where things got really aggressive, which ended up injuring one of Kakeru’s teammates. This made Kakeru briefly remember how he got injured as well and almost quit playing soccer for good. It was quite clear that he was a little bit shocked. Injuries are part of most (if not all) sports. It’s practically unavoidable. You just have to be careful and enjoy it while it lasts, but that’s just my opinion of course.

I’m having a hard time guessing next week’s events, which is a good thing. I would hate it if I could actually predict next week’s events. It could go either way at this point. It’s clear that Kakeru is still a little bit off his game while his opponents just keep getting better and better as they play. It’s going to be a close call. One of those mythical feints here and there would do them a world of good.
