Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S episode 08

Why in the hell did I have a Zettai Karen Children flashback during this episode? And I’m not even taking about that awesome spin-off, but about the childish original. I wouldn’t really go as far as to call this episode childish.

We all knew it was going to happen, so there’s no way anyone could’ve been surprised. Mikoto knew what she was getting mixed up in, and she knew that she would eventually get caught if she just rushed in like that.

It’s kind of strange that Mikoto hasn’t called for help yet. She’s always been the lone wolf-type, but even she knows her limits. She could’ve at least asked her sister for some assistance, especially since the rumours of Mikoto clones have been going around for quite some time now. Maybe Mikoto’s scared that Kuroko will take a few clones home with her?

A little blonde girl with the ability to blow stuff up. I immediately thought about Zettai Karen Children when I saw all those stuffed animals… Why? Why stuffed animals? I understand that she’s a little girl, but I don’t think that’s of any importance when she is used to killing people. You may be surprised to hear this, but even the sweetest of children lose their innocence when they kill someone. At least give her a few grenades or something else that she can blow up. Those teddy bears were embarrassing. I had no idea whether I should just shout “Cuuuuute!” or close my eyes until it was over.

  1. “She could’ve at least asked her sister for some assistance, especially since the rumours of Mikoto clones have been going around for quite some time now. Maybe Mikoto’s scared that Kuroko will take a few clones home with her?”

Maybe she’s uncomfortable with the idea that her friends know she has clones? Besides, I think it’s in character for her to try to not involve her friends in things that involve inhumane science, criminal activities, mass murder, and hired killers.
