Tokyo Ghoul √A episode 05
Badass episode! I just wish the subtitles in these episodes weren’t hardcoded. It gives me a lot more work when trying to post my review every week. Nevertheless, it’s a good show so I that little bit of extra work is somehow worth it all.
I got to say that I really enjoyed this episode. Ghouls were fighting people, people were fighting ghouls. It was a huge battle for survival and all for what; to rescue that hairy geezer that eventually ended up beating Ken? That is a really messed up twist. But at least Ken now has a goal that he can try to reach. He is well on his way by the looks of it.
I was actually surprised to see the One-eyed Owl appear like that. He came to save his “friends”. I wonder if it was the real One-eyed Owl or that old man from the café. My money is on the latter. I don’t think the real one would show up to save his fellow ghouls. He strikes me as the type of ghoul that believes in “survival of the fittest”.
Anyway, the real issue here is that Ken seemed to have experienced a huge power boost. He gained more of those tentacles, which looked like centipedes, and hauled quite a lot of ass. He even defeated one of those top-ranked detectives and may or may not have eaten him alive. I am kind of hoping he didn’t end up eating the man himself but just his armor (or Kagune as they call it). I don’t want to see Ken as the kind of character that goes around murdering people, not even if he himself is attacked. He can only kill annoying and insane characters, hehe.
