Tokyo Ghoul episode 02
I would really despise myself if I didn’t write about this one. You know, I fired up the second episode during my lunch at work so I had something awesome to look at as I made a bowl of chicken soup disappear. By boss saw what I was watching and was put off by the graphic content. It was quite funny.
My reviews will be quite troublesome due to the fact that I couldn’t possibly know what that guy, Ken, is going through right now. I kind of picture him as a zombie that wants nothing more than to tear a guy apart and eat his brains. I think that a ghoul is somewhat more selective. I am aware that their hunger is uncontrollable after which they will just hunt down the first human they come across, but they somehow seem far more selective than your average zombie character (not to mention far more intelligent). It’s quite difficult to try to understand how one of those ghoul characters work.
The fact that Ken is only half ghoul and half human makes him something else entirely, which makes thing even more interesting than they already are. It kind of remember me of the Blade series; half human and half vampire. At least Ken has a few friends that are willing to show him the ropes instead of throwing him out on the streets to be killed by other ghouls or humans.
There’s just one thing that I’m not sure about. Ken has a couple of organs transplanted into him from Rize, a ghoul that tried to kill him, when they both got trapped underneath those beams. He now seems to have her exact powers as well. I’m not sure I like that. I can’t wait for him to develop a few unique abilities of his own. That should certainly spice things up.
