Tonari no Seki-kun
Overrated. That’s the one word I would use to describe this. I have seen user ratings on several sites and all of them are completely overrated. Tonari no Seki-kun gets a seven average… Have you completely lost your anime-infested minds? A seven? B*tch, please…
The artwork is okay considering it’s an anime short. I would’ve definitely changed the expressions on Rumi’s face. Sometimes it’s cute and sometimes it’s just downright annoying. Also, I think I would’ve modified her personality a little. She really is annoying sometimes.
I just don’t know what to say about the story. I must admit the first episode was a little funny. A little. What about the rest? It’s always going to be the same thing… That guy is always going to be doing strange stuff on his desk and that girl is always going to meddle somehow… How in the world could you keep something like that interesting for weeks on end?
Sure, try the first episode, but I really can’t see myself watching more than three of these episodes. It’s the same thing, with the same characters in the same place. The only thing that interests me at this point is finding out how long this show remains watchable.
Plot Summary: The original manga revolves around a girl named Yokoi who sits next to a boy only known as Seki-kun. During class, Seki-kun continues to not pay attention and instead creates amazing little distractions, such as a detailed golf course with the course’s hole being a dent in his desk, or an entire dramatic war being played out by paper shogi pieces. Yokoi often finds herself getting reluctantly interested in his games, even though they always seem to end up getting HER in trouble with the teacher!
