Uchouten Kazoku episode 03

It’s nice to see that the user ratings for Uchouten Kazoku are finally rising on all the major anime websites. I actually think it’s a must-watch ever since I saw the first episode, especially if you compare this one to some of the other crap this season.

[HorribleSubs] Uchouten Kazoku - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_08.00_[2013.07.23_23.17.31]It’s strange, but I have no difficulty dealing with Yasaburou’s transformations. I have no idea why he likes to transform himself into a girl from time to time, but I don’t let it bother me. He’s an interesting character that holds a great deal of responsibility. He may not be the eldest in his family, but he sure does a lot for them.

It’s also very impressive how much time he spends with his old teacher, a man that claims to hate Tanuki (or “fur balls” as he calls them). There is a lot of history between the Tanuki and the Tengu, but none of it is as interesting as the history between Yasaburou and Satomi, one of the more interesting characters on this show.

[HorribleSubs] Uchouten Kazoku - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_16.40_[2013.07.23_23.18.03]It goes without saying that I’m a big fan of Satomi. I’m still not sure what she is. Is she really just a human? We mustn’t forget that she can fly, although that could be due to her psychic abilities. She is simply one big mystery that I would love to see solved. I’m actually wondering if she’s actually as strong as every makes her out to be, seeing as pretty much everyone fears her to some degree.

Yasaburou and Satomi make a great couple, even though that would probably be weird since they’re not the same species (not that it’s impossible for them to be together because of that though). Yasaburou may be the only Tanuki that’s not really that afraid of her, and that says something! This episode may have been slow-paced, but I’m really looking forward to the next episode (preferably with more (ecchi) Satomi in it).
