The World God Only Knows 3 episode 08
Thank god. It looks like the ‘real’ story is about to start. You can call this episode anything you want, but I can only refer to this episode as a preparation for what’s to come. I’m sure it’s safe to assume that we’re going to see quite a few surprises as things unfold.
This episode, for me, was both fulfilling and aggravating. We finally, after weeks of following Keima and his hunt for goddesses, get a glimpse of Apollo, the goddess that currently resides within Kanon. Keima confronts her, listens to what she has to say. I, the viewers, was almost under the impression that she was finally coming back, that this search for goddesses had finally come to an end. Wrong! Keima was still left with the duty to find the last goddess and Kanon is basically still imprisoned by Apollo’s messed up urge to fight against the forces of evil within her.
It also got a little bit agitated when Keima picked Chihiro as his next candidate when Ayumi is clearly the one with the goddess inside her. Chihiro’s actions are nothing but ‘normal’ in her case. Ayumi is the one that has changed ever so slightly. It is obvious that she’s the one. It could prove that Keima doesn’t really care enough for them individually for him to notice these things.
Anyway, it’s all about next week’s episode. The story is about to get really serious now that Yuri, Keima’s homeroom teacher, probably intends to step in now. It wouldn’t be all that surprising if she was one of the evil characters. After all, Haqua discovered that even her boss may be in on it. The people in whom Keima can place his trust are slowly disappearing.
