The World God Only Knows 3 episode 09
Before I start this post I just want you all to know that I like this episode. I really did. But, and I cannot stress this enough, we are nearing the double digits and all of the goddesses still haven’t been found, conquered or set free. It’s really starting to piss me off a little.
I had hoped that this whole goddess quest would’ve been over by now. Keima fulfilled his mission, the goddesses were gathered and we finally could focus on tackling the final obstacle; a final battle against the forces of darkness. That’s how I envisioned this season. Instead we’ve been seeing the same thing for nine weeks, which is essentially the same thing we saw during the first season. It’s the same job description, with the same characters and in similar places. If the goddesses weren’t involved than it would be like watching a rerun or something. I just think that things could’ve been a whole lot better if all of the goddesses had been conquered already, that’s all.
It also kind of pissed me off to see Keima’s attempt to conquer Chihiro’s heart. I knew that there wasn’t a goddess inside of her. I’m sure a lot of you, the viewers, knew as well. It was aggravating to watch. I would’ve called it a waste of time and energy if I didn’t think that it was quite romantic and beautiful, even though Keima messed up terribly.
So yeah, Ayumi was the final target after all. It was quite clear at times that here behavioural patterns were slightly different. I could not help but notice. And, keep in mind that this is just my opinion, I think that Keima and Ayumi would make a better couple, although he’ll probably end up with Chihiro if I am to believe his reaction to Chihiro’s confession.
