Zetman episode 04

Amazing stuff. Each and every episode reminds me of what a truly great anime this is. I am actually about to watch the first episode again, as I want to see how it all started once more. And yes, there were still many moments during this week’s episode where I got a little bit angry with what was going on.

I was a little bit relieved to see that Jin was doing pretty well. He has adapted quite nicely to his new lifestyle and seems to be improving. It is disappointing to see that he still ends up getting imprisoned, even though he’s still doing good things, despite all those drastic changes in his life. This time seemed to be a little different though. It seems that he was locked up for his own good, and by a man who seems to have his best interests at heart. It was nice to see that he was making new allies, especially allies that could prove to be of great value, but is it worth it? Is it worth it when you sacrifice so much in order to save the lives of other people (who don’t even know what is going on)? I wonder…

This episode was no different. He faced many hardships, kept his loved ones at a distance, and ended up fighting a “player” to save yet another person. I liked how this girl, Hanako-chan, unlike most female characters, looks so down-to-earth. She doesn’t look like a supermodel at all. She looks like a normal teenage girl (with braces). I love it! I absolutely love this feel of realism, despite the fact that it’s a show about monsters. I have not seen that many anime where the female characters looked that normal. By normal I mean like your everyday girl, of course. She’s not your o-look-its-yet-another-female-character-that-I-probably-will-forget-in-a-few-days type of character.

Anyway, I keep talking negatively about Jin’s situation, but there are a few advantages though. I must give those company goons credit for that one. They gave Jin a nice little place with quite a lot of expensive stuff (TV’s, surround sound sets, you name it). Not that I’m surprised or anything, I mean… Why not give your “hero” some goodies when he’s constantly putting his ass on the line to fix the mistake(s) you made, right?

At this point there’s only one thing that I would like to see, and that is to see Hanako-chan by Jin’s side. Nobody deserves to be alone, especially not someone like Jin, a guy who dedicated most, if not all of his life to help others. I can say only one thing right now about Zetman; I am going to read the hell out of the manga when the anime is finished. That much is certain.

Awesome post! I think that we have only scratched the surface. I definitely believe that Zetman will only get better from now on, now that the final main character has been introduced.

  2. kokomasa says:

Trust me, the manga is a lot better than the anime. I have been a fan for a very long time. If only the manga would get subbed more frequently…

There has not been a new chapter for months now.
